Most Helpful Customer Reviews For Fellow Powershred Shredder PS-67

fellows shredder, Better than the rest that I've owned!, August 3, 2008
This review is from: Fellow Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
Over the years I have purchased several "off the shelf" cheap shredders, and I have been dissapointed every time. Every time my shredder dies, I go to my local Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc... and buy whatever they have for cheap. Those shredders just don't do the job. When my last shredder died, I decided to spend some more $$ and get a better one. With this purchase, I am very happy!
When I received the box in the mail, I could immediatly tell it was better and more substantial by the weight of it. This is a solidly built shredder! It does not feel like a light little toy like so many other previous shredders I have owned.
I like the small strips it produces, (although I thought they would be a little smaller), and I am happy with the security that it provides me.With Fellow Shredder PS-67, I shred EVERYTHING that has any form of my name, address, or personal info on it. Nothing just goes in the trash for someone to snoop through and possibly violate me.
The "SafeSense sensor" bar is a nice touch. If you get too close and touch anywhere around the opening, the shredding immediately stops until you remove your finger. I like this safety feature with little ones in the house.
The best feature I can tell you about is how QUIET this is!!! Let me say it again in case you didn't hear me over your old, loud shredder... This one is QUIET!! We shred mail while carrying on a conversation or watching TV and hardly know that the shredder is on. Previous shredders I've owned sounded like a jet engine chewing up the paper.
I've owned this Fellow Powershred Shredder for a few weeks now, and have not found anything I do not like. I believe you would be very happy with this purchase.

fellows shredder, Quick and quiet but lacks consisteny, July 4, 2007
This review is from: Fellow Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
The Fellow Powershred Shredder is very qick and quiet, but the cuts are not reliable in terms of length, and they also tend to clog up on the cutters. Therefore, fairly frequent cleanouts are required to maintain the equipment in spite of regular use of shredder libricant, minimal insertion of pages for shredding, and short usage periods with long rests between for cool-downs. I also remove all staples before shredding.

fellows shredder Great shredder, March 8, 2007
This review is from: Fellow Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
Best fellow powershred shredder, I've ever had. It shreds credit cards with no problem. It takes a while for the bucket to fill (unless you're catching up on six month's of junk mail or clearing out a filing cabinet.) Taking the shredder off the bucket can cause some of the shredded paper to fall on the floor. If you close the flap on the bottom of the shredder as you take it off the bucket, you can prevent this.

fellows shredder Good shredder but way too safe!, December 2, 2008
This review is from: Fellow Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
This is a good shredder - all the Fellow Shredder, I have used have been. It shreds 8 sheets, like it says, and has a little credit card slot which I am not sure is really needed.

The "Safe sense" feature, however, is annoying. If you so much as touch the giant silver bar on the front of the shredder while putting the paper in it trips the "Safe sense" sensor, and stops the shredder. It actually makes it quite difficult to use. Had I known how sensitive it were I would have looked for a shredder without that feature. The slot is so small anyway I can't see how even a child could get fingers into it. It also interferes with any paper that is not loaded perfectly straight. If the paper is crooked it will feed upward, trigger the sensor, and shut off the shredder. Extremely annoying.

That brings me to my second complaint: the width of the slot is too small. It is only 9 inches wide, which means you can't stick full size envelopes in it. You have to fold them first, and then load them perfectly straight so it doesn't trip the safe sense sensor. The shredder I replaced, also a fellows shredder, did not have any of those problems.
